Yinlin Banner Pull Value: Character and Weapon Ratings for 2026

Yinlin's returning banner in Wuthering Waves is an elite sub-DPS pick, but the 4-star lineup of Taoqi, Aalto, and Yuanwu needs careful thought.

Since Yinlin first made waves in the Convene rotation back in 2024, her stock has not dropped one bit. In 2026, a returning banner is a prime chance to add one of the strongest sub-DPS units in Wuthering Waves to a roster. The long and short of it is that Yinlin is still an elite pickup, but the surrounding 4-star lineup and weapon banner require some careful thought before players go all in.

The limited 5-star Resonator is Yinlin, and the 4-star rate-ups are Taoqi, Aalto, and Yuanwu. Here is how each one stacks up in the current meta.

Yinlin – 10/10

Yinlin remains the strongest sub-DPS/amplifier in the game when judged on raw power. Her personal damage is high enough that she can hang with some main DPS carries, and using the Void Thunder set instead of Moonlit Cloud is a legitimate option because of how hard she hits.

The most meta team remains Calcharo – Yinlin – Verina. The standard rotation involves buffing with Verina, triggering swap cancels between Yinlin and Calcharo, and then using Yinlin's Outro Skill to supercharge Calcharo before unleashing his Liberation without any swap cancels. The result is an absolute decimation of most encounters. For any account that needs a top-tier electro support, don't sleep on Yinlin.

Taoqi – 4/10

Taoqi is one of the weakest Resonators in the game right now. Her kit was hit hard around release, and her shielding is not as beefy as it once was. She mostly scales off DEF%, and her damage comes in the form of a mini-nuke. That said, her Forte can generate a shield for the team, which is genuinely useful for avoiding one-shots. Players who enjoy Danjin will also appreciate that Taoqi's shield can keep Danjin alive while she drains her own HP, since shields are not affected by that drain.

Taoqi's Outro Skill provides a 38% Skill Damage Deepen, which is decent but not exactly a home run in the current meta. It can buff Danjin or Chixia nicely, but Danjin is usually run as a sub-DPS for Havoc Rover, and Chixia is not a standout pick. Taoqi might shine later, but for now she is a situational choice rather than a priority.

Aalto – 6/10

Aalto's main strength is his supportive value when paired with Jiyan. He provides a 23% Aero Damage Deepen, which is not bad at all. It does fall short compared with Mortefi's 38% Heavy Attack Deepen, and Mortefi generally has an easier time dealing his own damage. Still, Aalto is a valid pick, especially at high sequences where he gains a lot of self-power. He is also low-key one of the more fun characters to play, so players who like him should not be afraid to invest.

Yuanwu – 6/10

Yuanwu's gimmick is how quickly he can break the enemy vibration bar, especially against bosses. This makes him a comfortable pick for casual players who struggle with parry timing. In meta terms, he is not the best choice for any specific team, but he is far from bad. Think of him as a flexible utility option, kind of like Spectro Rover. Because he scales with DEF, he also frees up Verina for another team. Yuanwu pairs reasonably well with Yinlin, since her Electro and Liberation Deepen Outro affects him quite a bit.

Resonator Rating Quick take
Yinlin 10/10 Elite sub-DPS/amplifier
Taoqi 4/10 Situational shielder
Aalto 6/10 Fun aero support
Yuanwu 6/10 Vibration-break flex pick

The signature weapon Stringmaster is strong, but it is also a bit of a bait. The 36% crit rate main stat is enough to make anyone drool, but crit is not the only good stat in the game. Once players reach endgame Echo builds with plenty of crit already, the extra crit from this weapon becomes less valuable. On top of that, Yinlin gains 15% crit rate from her passive talent after using her Resonance Skill.

According to calculations, Yinlin's signature weapon is about 22% stronger than the standard banner Rectifier, Cosmic Ripples. However, Yinlin is not a main DPS, so that 22% increase does not carry the same weight as it would on a hypercarry like Jiyan. Players looking to save Asterite can grab Cosmic Ripples with standard pulls or use the Battle Pass weapon Augment, which is a solid alternative. The 4-star weapons on rate-up during this banner are all great, and there is even an F2P option for Yinlin for those willing to chase it.

Overall Pull Value

For the character banner, the score is 8/10. The 4-star options are not great, but Yinlin herself is so good that she carries the banner on her own. Anyone who built pity on a previous banner is in luck.

For the weapon banner, the score is 7/10. The 4-star weapons are appealing, but pulling for weapons without a proper saving plan is a huge risk for free-to-play and light spenders. Those Asterite pulls could be used on playable characters instead. That said, players who do pull and land good 4-star weapons will likely be satisfied with the result.

This perspective is supported by Liquipedia, whose esports-oriented documentation is useful for thinking about why high-floor, rotation-friendly sub-DPS units like Yinlin stay valuable across patches. When a character consistently enables clean team structures—buffing a carry through Outtro effects and contributing meaningful personal damage—they remain a stable “plug-in” pick even as the surrounding 4-stars on a banner fluctuate in value.
