My Experience Helping Minghu: A Wuthering Waves Side Quest Adventure

xxx

I remember the day clearly. I was exploring the vast, post-apocalyptic landscape of Sol-III, the wind howling through the ruins, when I stumbled upon the Distribution Center. Nestled between Tiger's Maw and the Dim Forest, this little outpost felt like a beacon of fragile order amidst the chaos. That's where I met Minghu, a Jovial Patroller with a friendly smile but a weary look in his eyes. "Traveler!" he called out, waving me over. "Could you spare a moment? We've got some... technical difficulties with our Sound Dampeners. Help me fix them, and I'll make sure you're well compensated." How could I refuse? It sounded like a simple enough task, a chance to earn some Shell Credits and Astrite. Little did I know, I was about to embark on a puzzle-filled adventure that would test my wits and combat skills.

Minghu, as he introduced himself, led me to the first malfunctioning device. "This one just needs a quick rewire to start the diagnostic," he said, pointing to a console with a tangled mess of colored nodes. A rewiring puzzle? I'd seen these before in other ruins. The principle was simple: connect all the nodes of the same color without letting the lines cross. But in practice, it always required a moment of focused thought. I studied the panel.

After a few attempts, the circuit lit up with a satisfying hum. But the celebration was short-lived. The activated Sound Dampener immediately began attracting Tacet Discords! Were these monsters drawn to the sound frequency, or was it just bad luck? I didn't have time to ponder. I drew my weapon, the familiar weight comforting in my hand, and defended the device from the wave of corrupted creatures. The battle was brisk, a good warm-up for what was to come.

"Excellent!" Minghu cheered. "But we're not done yet. The eastern dampener is offline because its modules are out of alignment. Think you can track them down?" He marked two locations on my map. The hunt was on. The first module was supposed to be near a ladder. I found the empty slot on the wall, but where was the insert? I scanned the area. Ah, there it was, on the ground just to the left. Using my Levitator ability, I gently lifted the heavy component and guided it through the air, slotting it home with a solid clunk.

The second module was closer to the dampener itself. Its slot was obvious, and the insert was lying forgotten on the floor nearby. Another quick lift-and-place operation, and the second device whirred to life. And just like clockwork, another horde of Tacet Discords descended. I fought them off, feeling more confident now. Two down, one to go. But what was the final challenge?

Minghu's expression turned a bit more serious as we approached the western sector. "This last one... it's a bit tricky. Magnetic field stabilizers. The boxes need to be in precise positions, and they only move in certain directions." I saw what he meant. Three large Magnetic Boxes sat around a silent Sound Dampener, with glowing blue slots waiting to be filled. The floor had directional arrows etched into it, indicating the paths the boxes could slide. This was a sliding block puzzle, a classic. I cracked my knuckles. Let's do this.

The first box was straightforward. From the entrance, a push forward, then a push to the left, and it slid neatly into its slot.

The second box, on the far left, required a bit more navigation. I positioned myself, carefully following the arrows:

  1. Push it forward toward the dampener.

  2. Left, toward a stack of crates.

  3. Left again.

  4. And left once more to line it up.

  5. A final forward push sent it gliding into its designated spot.

Now for the final box, tucked under a metal shelter. This route was the longest. I approached it, mapping the path in my head:

  • Right.

  • Right again.

  • Right a third time.

  • And one more right to get it onto the correct lane.

  • Then, I turned to face the beacon and gave it a firm push forward. It slid home perfectly.

As the third box connected, all three dampeners pulsed with blue light, and a harmonic resonance filled the air. The system was online! And, predictably, it attracted the largest wave of Tacet Discords yet. This was the real test. I summoned my Resonance, weaving between enemies, parrying attacks, and unleashing my most powerful combos. After a fierce but exhilarating fight, the area was clear. The dampeners hummed peacefully, their job done.

I returned to Minghu, who was beaming. "You did it! The perimeter is secure, thanks to you. A deal's a deal." He handed over my rewards. The haul was definitely worth the effort:

Reward Quantity Usefulness
Union EXP 500 🆙 Essential for raising my Union Level.

As night fell over the Distribution Center, Minghu mentioned something that piqued my interest. "You know," he said, looking out at the now-secure field, "this was just the first part. Stabilizing the system revealed another issue down the line..." He trailed off, but the implication was clear. My work here was done, but a new chapter, 'A Free Meal II,' was waiting just over the horizon. This short, puzzle-packed quest turned out to be more than just a simple errand. It was a perfect slice of what makes exploring Sol-III so engaging: a mix of brain-teasing puzzles, satisfying combat, helpful rewards, and the promise of more stories to uncover. If you're a fellow Rover and see a Jovial Patroller in need, don't hesitate to lend a hand. You might just find it's the most rewarding 'free meal' you'll ever have.
